Şölen Kıratlı is an artist, architect, researcher, lecturer, and occasional drummer. She is currently a PhD candidate at the
Media Arts and Technology Program (MAT), a lecturer at the Art Department, and a researcher at ReTouch Lab, UC Santa Barbara. She works with digital media, ranging from physical computing devices to digital fabrication techniques.
Şölen has a BSc degree in architecture from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) and an M.Arch from University of Southern California (USC). She has worked on several architectural projects in Los Angeles area before she started her current doctoral studies in digital media practice. She is also the recipient of UCIRA Social Ecologies Grant, VIDA 13.0 Artistic Production Incentives, and IHC (Interdisciplinary Humanities Center) Media Arts Award.
